Time matters. Hold the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse gently if dirty, and try to place it back in the socket. If that’s not possible, keep it in milk or between your cheek and gum. Call us on the way.

Can I be seen the same day for a dental emergency in Elmira?

Often, yes. During office hours (Monday-Wednesday 7 AM – 4 PM, Thursday 7 AM – 2 PM), we reserve time each week for urgent visits. Call as soon as you can. If your situation is time-sensitive, we’ll do everything we can to fit you in the same day.

I’m not a current patient. Can I still call for an emergency?

Yes. We welcome new patients for emergency care whenever we have room. We’ll get you comfortable first, then handle the paperwork.

What do I do if my tooth gets knocked out?

Pick the tooth up by the crown (the chewing surface), not the root. Rinse gently if dirty. Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it moist in milk or between your cheek and gum. Call us on your way in. The sooner we see you, the better the chance to save the tooth.

Will insurance cover emergency dental care?

Most PPO dental plans cover a portion of emergency treatment because it’s considered medically necessary. Coverage varies by plan. We work with most PPO plans and will review your specific coverage with you before starting treatment.
